Darrell
Gwynn
Before
his tragic 1990 accident, Gwynn won an NHRA World Championship in 1983
(Top Alcohol Dragster). In 2001, he was voted one of NHRA’s “50
Greatest Drivers All-Time”.
In 2002, he was inducted into the prestigious
International Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
Gwynn is also the creator and president of the Darrell Gwynn Foundation,
a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the cure of spinal cord-induced paralysis.
The foundation funds leading-edge scientific research while giving life-enhancing
assistance to the underprivileged through Quality of Life Grants.
Gwynn is a corporate spokesperson for the following corporations: Sunrise
Medical Corporation (Quickie Wheelchairs), and The Miami Project to Cure
Paralysis.
